I offer solution-focused hypnotherapy - non-medical support for anyone living with cancer or related to someone experiencing cancer. Sessions complement medical care, not replace it, and are shaped by both my professional training and lived experience. I too have travelled the cancer road.

My work supporting people affected by cancer is deeply personal. Having experienced breast cancer myself - involving surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy - i understand first-hand the emotional and physical impact dianosis and treatment can bring.

How to Use Microsoft Teams for Your Therapy Session

This guide will walk you through the steps of using Microsoft Teams for your therapy session. Teams is a video conferencing platform that allows you to connect with your therapist from the comfort of your own home.

Before Your Session

  • Access Microsoft Teams: You can use Teams through your web browser (no download required) or download the free Teams app for your computer, tablet, or smartphone from microsoft.com/teams.
  • Test Your Equipment: Ensure your microphone and camera are working properly. You can do this by checking your device settings or using the video call test feature in Teams.
  • Find a Quiet Space: Choose a private and quiet location for your session. Ensure you won't be disturbed.
  • Have Your Device Charged: Make sure your device is fully charged or connected to a power source.

Joining Your Session

  1. Click the Meeting Link: You will receive a unique link from me for each session via email. Click this link a few minutes before our scheduled session time.
  2. Enter Your Name: If joining as a guest, you'll be prompted to enter your name before joining the meeting.
  3. Allow Camera and Microphone Access: Teams will ask permission to use your camera and microphone - click "Allow" to enable them.
  4. Join the Meeting: Click "Join now" to enter the session.
  5. Wait for me to invite you in: You may be placed in a virtual lobby until I admit you to the session.

During Your Session

  • Video and Audio: You will be guided by me through the session. Just relax. Please have your video and audio on.
  • Mute/Unmute: Use the microphone icon at the bottom of the screen to mute or unmute yourself when needed.
  • Camera On/Off: Use the camera icon to turn your video on or off if required.

No. Hypnotherapy is not a medical treatment and does not replace oncology care, medication, or psychological therapies recommended by your clinical team. It is offered as a complementary form of emotional support alongside medical care.

Absolutely. Hypnosis aids the creation of a trance state which is a very natural state to be in. It is simply a relaxed, focused state of awareness. You remain in control throughout the session, and you can open your eyes and return to full alertness at any time.

We work quickly, usually 8-12 sessions, though sometimes more. Some clients notice positive changes within a few sessions. We regularly review your progress together to ensure you're moving forward in a way that works for you.

I commonly support people with anxiety, fear, sleep difficulties, emotional overwhelm, and the sense of uncertainty that can arise before, during, or after cancer treatment. Sessions focus on coping, emotional regulation, and feeling more resourced.

Yes. I work with people at different points in their experience, including diagnosis, active treatment, remission, and survivorship. Sessions are always adapted to how someone is feeling at the time.

I kindly ask for at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your session. This allows me to offer the slot to someone else.

Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice may be subject to a full session fee. I understand that life can be unpredictable, so please get in touch if something urgent comes up.
